‘Art on Track’ Oct. 7 features WTAT artisans at N.C. & St.L. Depot & Museum

ACW_square_hires“Art on Track” set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at the historic downtown N.C. & St. L. Depot & Railroad Museum features the West Tennessee Artisan Trail artisans showing their juried works in pottery, metalcrafts, photography, sculpture, jewelry, woodturning, glassworks, textiles and paintings. Artists will include: Wanda Stanfill, Dennis Fischer, Patricia Fischer, Jacque Hillman, Jesse Hillman, Sandra Heismann, Donna Frankland, Andrew Boks, Greg Phillips, Paul Crabtree, Hattie Duncan, Connie Beck, Lisa Kersey, and Dana Groff. The authors’ table will have books by regional authors who are members of the West TN Artisan Trail. The Watch & Timepiece Collectors will also be in the museum showing their timepieces from 10 a.m. until noon.
The site was the Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis Railway Passenger Depot from 1907-1967. It is located at 582 S Royal St. in Jackson and is on the National R
egister of Historic Places. The museum’s collection

includes photographs, artifacts, and related memorabilia associated with the G.M.&O. RR., I.C. RR., N.C. & St. L. Railway. and their family trees. Also located on the grounds open for view are a 1947 F.E.C. dining car and two cabooses. An elaborate working “HO” scale model railroad with over 500 feet. of track and four trains running at once, built by the Jackson Area Model Railroaders Club depicts Jackson’s rich railroad history.
