On May 31, 2015, The Jackson Sun ran a story on “Artisan Afternoon” in the Jackson Life section:
A philosopher once said that anyone observing art is able to find themselves and lose themselves as well.
At “Artisan Afternoon” on Saturday, June 20, at Fleur de Lee Restaurant, West Tennesseans are invited to find something memorable and lose themselves in an enjoyable day that will offer fine art from a number of West Tennessee artisans, New American cuisine prepared by chef Kiah Darion, and music from local musicians.
The event, a partnership between Fleur de Lee and the West Tennessee Artisan Trail, is 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“The West Tennessee Artisan Trail is being formed to build collaborative and mentoring relationships for artists throughout West Tennessee,” said Wanda Stanfill, artisan committee chair. “Technology and innovative approaches will be used to help promote local artists and feature creativity available in our backyard.”
“We are excited to partner with Fleur de Lee Restaurant to present this first WTAT event,” said Stanfill, who is a local sculptor and artist herself. “This is a ‘pop-up’ art event, intended to offer great art, fine food and excellent jazz music on a Father’s Day weekend when families will be gathering to celebrate.”
